Due Diligence Management
A client engaged the us to manage the due diligence investigation on a proposed purchase of a Brownfields industrial and office site with 260,000 square feet of structures. We arranged for proposals from civil engineers, environmental assessment engineers, design and architectural firms, hazardous materials assessment and legal services for our international client. We developed decision matrices and strategic analysis of project data and performed many other management activities.
Definition of Environmental Concerns
The owners of a 7 tenant industrial park have engaged our company to prepare their facility for sale. The tasks include drafting a RFP for assessment, evaluation of proposals, and review of contracts and invoices. Next steps include assisting management with negotiations in the development of a Purchase and Sale Agreement.
Environmental Assessments
We continue to manage federal and CT funds for assessment projects for 25 eligible CT municipalities. Seven projects are currently underway.
Grant Applications
Our staff and associates recently prepared grant applications totaling several million dollars. Among the requests was one for economic development assistance related to the modernization of a utility loop on a 186 acre Brownfields rehabilitation project. Another application was for a grant to assist with the renovation of the kitchen of a municipally owned historic structure. We also wrote applications for federal funding of environmental assessments. We are currently developing an application for assistance with the demolition of structures on Brownfields sites.
Presentations
Company President Arthur Bogen recently gave a talk as part of a panel on Brownfields at the First Statewide Smart Growth Conference in Connecticut. He also gave talks to the future business leaders of the Waterbury CT Regional Chamber of Commerce. He recently assisted in the editing of papers delivered at the Fourth International Brownfields Conference in Greece where he was an invited speaker. Recently he was asked to make a presentation before the Governor’s Brownfields Task Force.
